The Italian Geotechnical Society (AGI) is organizing the “2nd International Workshop on Complex Formations” that will be held on May 9th 2023 at Politecnico di Torino, Turin.
Complex block-in-matrix formations, such as bimrocks and bimsoils, are characterized by great spatial, lithological and mechanical variability which affect the expected mechanical response, providing not negligible problems in the planning, designing and construction phases of any engineering work. For this reason, the topic is of interest to both scientists and practitioners.
This is the second edition of the Workshop. The first was held in 2019, at Politecnico di Torino, and attracted a good number of participants, also due to the high scientific level of the invited speakers. Also in this edition some of the most internationally recognized researchers on rock complex formations have been invited, and we expect again a good feedback from the academic and practitioner communities.

Both in-person and online registrations are provided.
